Thanks for the follow-up of Lancy Chen, I have found a new record bird for the Falklands! After the spectacular visit to the Rockhopper/Albatross rookery on Westpoint Island, our hosts treated us to an array of cookies, cakes and beverages. After having my full of these wonderful treats my eye wandered to nearby birds. There were Turkey Vultures on the roof of the house and Austral Thrushes flitting everywhere. I spotted a small bird on the roof of a nearby shed and up went to camera. I photographed a distant flycatcher which appeared very similar to the Kingbirds back home and indeed, I had photographed a Tropical Kingbird back in Buenos Aires.
Our bird expert, Lancy Chen, was surprised to see such a species on this island and referred the photo to ebird experts, who identified it as a Cattle Tyrant! This species has never been recorded on the Falklands! So an out of focus, distant photo that I was about to delete is now a prominent member of the collection!

A piece of art. Congratulations on the cattle
Tyrant discovery. Really enjoyed speaking with you about birds, politics and finance. I look forward to seeing your future post. If I knew about your site, I may not had to spend a month in the Antarctica. Happy Travels Bill mah
